OLL Middle School Communication

The course adoption process for the 21-22 school year will take place through the Secondary Design Team meetings. The meeting dates that will include this process are November 15^th (virtual) , December 1^st  and February 9^th .  To have a course reviewed at the November 15^th   meeting please complete this form by October 22^nd  . Please reference the course catalog prior to submitting a course adoption request to ensure this course would be needed in the content area. For courses outside of these subject areas (CTE, ESE, AICE, IB, etc.) please reference the course catalog in myStudent to see what is currently adopted. The course is only adopted for use in brick and mortar schools if there is a Z suffix on the end of the course code number and it is listed as active in the system.  If you are unsure of how to access the course catalog reference these directions.  Please contact Tonia Shook with any questions you may have.

Athletic Capital Funds have been allocated to each secondary school based on projected ADM. In the attached spreadsheet and memo,  you will see two numbers: 2021/22 ADM and appropriated funds to your school. The2021/22 funds are available as of October 4, 2021. Please contact Matt Wicks, Supervisor of Athletics, if you have any additional questions on how you can spend athletic capital funds. As always, these funds do rollover if they are not spent.

Here is the most current list of endorsed staff, as of 10/1/21. If you have teachers that need to obtain a reading endorsement there is still an opportunity for them to enroll with the courses at UF Literacy Matrix, or in the district pathway. Pre-enrollment for the UF Flamingo Literacy Matrix 2021 is open! Join over 3,000 public and charter school educators enrolled in the UF Flamingo Literacy Matrix to earn Reading Endorsement in Florida. The UF Flamingo Literacy Matrix is an online professional development system built in partnership with Just Read, Florida! and the Florida Department of Education and a route for Reading Endorsement.

The Florida Department of Education is sponsoring your participation in this initiative…so it is free to you!  

If you are in need of Reading Endorsement you may be eligible to participate. You will need to select each Competency that you need for Reading Endorsement during pre-enrollment.  ​​It is imperative that you correctly identify your competency needs in order to be placed in the correct courses. UF is an approved provider of the Competency courses; however, they do not approve previous coursework. If you have any questions contact your district liaison, Danielle Varcardipone. 

Weekly activity is required, though you can work at your own pace. We recommend that you complete one competency per month.  View this video for additional information. After you have determined what competencies you need, please click on this link included in the flyer to pre-enroll as soon as possible! Courses will begin the first week of November.

We currently have a number of open instructional coaching positions and are looking to systematically add highly qualified coaching candidates to our pools for Learning Design Coaches and Instructional Trainer Coaches.  If you have teacher leaders or folks who are looking to apply for coaching positions, please communicate our Coaching Pool Interview plan and dates.  Thank you.
