If you know of an SLP or ESE certified teacher that is interested in receiving more information, please complete have them complete this form. Together We Lead/FASA Discover conference
We are just a few weeks away from our Together We Lead/FASA Discover conference. The Pasco and FASA teams have an awesome learning conference planned for you. As mentioned before, the conference begins at 2:20 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 and closes midday on Thursday, June 9, 2022. If you haven’t already done so, please work with your bookkeeper and/or secretary to fill out necessary out-of-county paperwork. As a reminder, OLL is covering the cost of participant registration but schools will need to pay for all additional travel expenses.
Soon you will receive communication from FASA about the conference and the Event Owl platform and will contain your log in credentials. The conference schedule and session resources will be housed on Event Owl which will allow you to have mobile (computer or other device) access to all things Together We Lead/FASA Discover. Many of you are familiar with the Event Owl platform, as it is the same one we used during last summer’s Together We Lead and Together We Learn events.
As you think about planning out your 2 days, you will have two options on how you map out your learning.
Option #1
Attached you will find a copy of FASA’s Agenda and Pasco’s Detailed Agenda. This will provide you an opportunity to plan out your schedule outside of the event platform. If you choose this option, you will need to log on to the Event Owl platform (https://fasa.eventowl.net/) to access session recordings and session materials and resources.
Option #2
Access the session schedule and session descriptions on the Event Owl platform. Click the “add to favorites” while on the Event Owl site (https://fasa.eventowl.net/) to select your sessions. You can continue to view your schedule on this site or you can download the FASA app. This app is directly connected to the Event Owl site. The username and password for the FASA app is the same username/password you used to access the Event Owl platform. You received an email from support@eventowl.net with your username and password.
On the day of the event, log on to the Event Owl platform (https://fasa.eventowl.net/) on the day/time of the sessions you select, search the session title in the search box, open the selected session and to access important session information, materials and resources.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at Together We Lead/Discover 2022! As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Vaughnette Chandler.

Blended Learning Application 22-23
Did you know? As required under the Digital Learning Act, s. 1003.4282, a student entering grade 9 in the 2011-2012 school year and thereafter who seeks a high school diploma must take at least one online course. An online course is a formal education program involving student–teacher interaction in which a student learns mostly through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of student control over time, place, path, or pace.
Teachers instructing high-school credit earning courses that are mostly through an online delivery of content and meet the application criteria can have their face-to-face courses tagged as a “blended course” making their course eligible to satisfy the online course requirement. Middle school teachers instructing high-school credit earning courses are also able to apply.
If you would like to apply for this designation for the 22-23 school year, the teacher must complete the blended learning application by July 11, 2022. Courses will be reviewed and schools will be notified of application approvals the week of July 14, 2022. Then, data entry operators would make the necessary revisions to the sections within the school’s master schedule set-up.
Leaders, please encourage teachers that may qualify to submit an application. PCSD will be approved district-wide and tagged as blended. Other courses are also under review for district-wide approval.
If you have any questions, please email Melissa Caruso or Anthony Tretolo.
ELA and Reading Course Placement Guidance
Now that EOY PMP Determinations have been made, you can further anticipate scheduling needs. Here is a link to the Secondary Literacy Course Planning folder where you will find resources to support scheduling Intensive Reading courses based on students’ Tier 2 and Tier 3 needs. If you are planning to change your scheduling structure to include the co-teach model, you will want to consider offering PD to support your ELA and Intensive Reading Teachers in making this transition. You can find specific consideration and structures on the Secondary Reading Placement Guide.
Please reach out to Cassie Hernandez or Courtney Lough if you have any questions.
Middle School Articulation Data
In order to support scheduling and placement decisions for 22-23, we have pulled 5th grade data for you to access to ease the articulation process. You can access student data sheet and PMP EOY Consideration Watchlist Excel spreadsheets here: Middle School Articulation.
Zearn Summer Math Series: Important Update
We have current Pasco County data that proves students doing 3 Zearn lessons per week have a significant increase in their NWEA and FSA data. Wouldn’t it be great if we could continue that for the summer? Well, it is here!
Zearn presents their summer 2022 Intensive Math Series which offers a coherent, focused 4–6-week sequence that will build strong foundations for all rising 1st through 9th graders to help them succeed in their 22-23 academic year.
Note: Middle School Students (currently 6th – 8th)will only have this available until June 30th .
Please note that these lessons would have to be assigned to your students before leaving for the summer and I also encourage you to notify parents about this incredible summer opportunity. Click here to find out more.
Feel free to contact Jan Anderton, should you have any questions.
