Should they have any questions, they can contact Danielle Varcardipone.

English General Paper Data Overview and Mock Exam Update

EGP Data Overview:

Each school will be able to find a completed data sheet for their site and District here. The data sheets were compiled using the myPascoAnalytics and shared at the October principal meeting.

Planning Ahead for Mock Exams:

  • Mock Exams will be done at the end of Quarter 2 and Quarter 3 in a “real” testing situation where test conditions will mimic that of the day of the exam. You will again follow the same directions for inputting the student scores into MyProgress after students complete the exam and you can review the exam with them after all have been graded and inputted into MyProgress. This folder contains the mock exam for the end of December. It is from the October/November 2020 series.
  • Use the data to connect with your PLCs and calibrate around scoring.
  • This folder contains the mock exam for March from the May/June 2021 series.

Instructional Implications, consider how you might be able to use this data as a PLC to determine next steps for students. Which parts of each AOs are problematic? What can we do to help boost student’s confidence and build their input?

Course Cards & Progressions

As a reminder the Pasco County Course Catalog houses helpful information for parents and schools about the courses available in Pasco County. Additionally, course progressions are available as well to help guide course selection. At the December principal’s meeting we will be providing an update on ELA and Math Course progressions. Below are reminders to consider as you prepare for 22-23 course selection.

Computer Science

Per Statute 1007.2616 Public schools shall provide students in grades K-12 opportunities for learning computer science, including, but not limited to, computer coding and computer programming. Such courses must be integrated into each school district’s middle and high schools, including combination schools in which any of grades 6 through 12 are taught. If you do not currently offer a computer science course, we encourage you to review the computer science course progression below in addition to the approved computer science course list from the state. For questions on what courses would be appropriate or good for your school, please contact Bobbi Starling.

Personal Financial Literacy

Per 1003.4282 beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, all school districts must offer a financial literacy course consisting of at least one-half credit as an elective. Please ensure this course is on your course card. This does not mean your school has to offer the course if there is no interest, just that the option must be offered. Please contact Tina Stavrou with questions.
