Instructional Materials Recycling Request- Summer 2019: Action Needed
We are once again reaching out to aid in the removal of out of date, out of adoption, obsolete and other materials not used or further supported in your schools.
Please work with your plant manager to complete the “Recycling Request” by 05/28/19 and to determine the process for removal that best meets the current needs of your school. We realize that some schools are in desperate need of removal and others may not be able to prioritize this project right now-either of those and everything in between can be supported with this work.
Note: Please feel free to reach out to the Office for Leading and Learning to inquire about any materials in question. They are up to date on current adoption cycles as well as primary and supplementary materials.

Scholastic’s Summer Read-a-Palooza May 6th -September 6th – Share with coaches and teachers
Good news, Scholastic is hosting another summer reading challenge, Read-a-Palooza. Every school has a generic account that LDCs, ITCs, RMAs and Administrators can share and a Scholastic Summer Reading icon has been pushed out to your Launchpads. As a site administrator, one of you will need to follow the directions attached to print out credentials for your students. Please assist students with logging in prior to the end of the school year, to ensure they can authenticate their account with your support. Once they log in with the provided username and password, they will not need to enter it again, as long as they are logging in through myPascoConnect.
You may add a new student by clicking the Manage Classes button on the homepage, and choosing the correct class name the student is to be added to. Then, at the bottom of the class roster there will be (+) sign to click which will open a window to add the new student. When finished, please click Save and Confirm. Once the student is added, you will be able to click on their name to pull up the username and password.
Pasco County Schools claimed 4 out of 10 top slots in Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge during the summer of 2018! Great job New River Elementary, Chasco Elementary, Odessa Elementary and Watergrass Elementary!
Please encourage your students to log in through myPascoConnect and log their reading minutes all summer long. Click here for a document you could use to record usernames and passwords for your students along with the link to myPascoConnect, so they have easy access. Let’s see if Pasco can claim 10 out of 10 top slots for most summer reading this year!
