Third Grade ESY/SRC Important Information

This update includes 3 critical steps to begin the process for ESY:

  • Student Eligibility
  • Mystudent Setup
  • SIPPS screeners

Student Eligibility Criteria

We will need to use our updated Spring NWEA MAP and DIBELS Composite data to invite students to Summer Reading Camp. All DIBELS data MUST be entered into the DDS by April 29th.  We will run a final import of DIBELS data on May 2nd.

Here are the directions for pulling the myEWS EOY PMP Considerations report

  • Go to myEWS and click on EOY PMP Considerations report
  • Filter by ELA Eligible (Yes) AND Grade 3
    • You can also filter by teacher

This will provide a list of students that scored < 30th percentile/<189 RIT on NWEA MAP AND < 424 DIBELS Composite

Please know that we will use this data to adjust instructional allocations and determine the number of Reading Interventionists each host site will need. Please refer to pgs. 9-10 of  ESY Guidelines for all allocation criteria.

ESY Summer 2022 Set-Up: Identifying Students, Inviting Students, and Requesting Transportation

Please use this step by step guide for  set-up in myStudent for Summer / ESY.

This will show you from start to finish what needs to be done to enroll a student in ESY, invite a student to the program and set up transportation.. The process is like what has been done in previous years, but there are some new fields that have been added.

SIPPS 4-12 Placement Test for all Third Grade SRC Invitees

To ensure interventions can start the first week of ESY/SRC, it is very important that you administer the  SIPPS 4-12 Placement Test for each student attending SRC, prior to the end of the school year. The Reading Interventionists will use SIPPS Plus and Challenge for interventions this summer, so the interventions can continue in the fall, and we can accelerate reading growth.  If you have a student already working in SIPPS Plus or Challenge, you may record the last lesson they complete or the last Master Test to share with the interventionist and would not need to readminister the 4-12 Placement Test.

EOY PMP Determinations (May 9-May 20)

Our window for making EOY PMP determinations for the 22-23 school year will be May 9-May 20.  All teachers of ELA and Math will need to go into myStudent and confirm PMP status for each student on the PMP/Interventions tab.

We will roll in current PMP status of meeting or not meeting standards, so teachers will only need to make updates if the status is changing for 22-23.  We want to ensure the PMP designations are as accurate as possible, so we can notify each parent on the Q4 Report Card.

As you are reviewing EOY data to determine who will need a PMP for 22-23, you can access the EOY PMP Considerations report in myEWS:

  • Open myEWS from myPascoConnect
  • Click on EOY PMP Consideration tab to open report
  • Filter by grade level and/or teacher
  • Filter by ELA Eligible or Math Eligible to see a watchlist of students that may need a PMP for 22-23

Kindergarten Math EOY PMP Recommendation

Kindergarten students consistently scoring in the STEP 1 category on the “Eureka Progression Toward Mastery Rubric” for their task-based assessments and that score below the 21 percentile on NWEA, should be marked as not meeting math standards and recommended for a PMP in the next school year.

Once we have FSA results for grades 3-10, any student scoring a Level 3, 4, or 5 will be marked as Met Standards for the content area of ELA (Reading and Writing) or Math.

And,

any student that scores a Level 1 will be marked as Not Met Standards and will roll into the 22-23 school year with a PMP.

Please reach out to Courtney LoughJan Anderton, or Larry Porter if you have any questions as you engage in this process.

Instructional Materials Consumable Re-order Update

Thank you to those that were able to attend the instructional materials consumable re-order workshops earlier this month.  For reference, we have included the link to the folder shared with participants. School Resources- Instructional Materials

As was mentioned, at this time you should be budgeting and creating quotes for what will need to be reordered.  The funds have not yet been allocated to your cost center.  The timeline for that action and the first available day to use the funds will be after the board memo for these purchases is approved at the May 17th board meeting.

To provide to teachers the resources needed, we are requesting that this form be completed by May 6th.  We know that schools could experience a shift in allocations, and it will be an expectation that if teacher material is needed that schools help each other with the need if at all possible.  Please reach out to Kim Hedgspeth or Fran Howard with any questions.

ELA Module Assessments: Optional Module Assessments

The Module 8 Assessment (Kindergarten) and Module 11 Assessment (grades 1-5) suggested testing window is April 29th through May 4th.  Please be sure to use these Administering Guidelines documents to note any modifications and obtain rubrics and directions.

Grades 1-5:  Module Assessment 11 Administration Information.docx

Kindergarten:  Module Assessment 8 Administration Information.docx. Please note the sentence “Move to the car.” was missing from item 3 for the Listening section of the Specific Guidelines for Administering the Module Assessment. It now reads, “Item 3: Say: Move to the car. What did Polly’s plant have to help it grow that Fred’s plant did not.” No modifications are needed to the student assessment.

As these are optional module assessments, the data entry window is open through May 25th.

Final versions of the assessments can be found within the  Formative and Summative folder. If your school has requested copies of the remaining module assessments, they will be delivered to your school between Wednesday, April 27th and Friday, April 29th.
