OLL Elementary School Communication

Kinder Camp Input and Planning- Action Needed

We have an exciting opportunity to offer a fully funded K Camp to all incoming Ks this Summer!  Initially planning is for July 27 and July 28. These dates correspond to other opportunities for our entering 6th and 9th graders.  We need your input to support planning for this event through the survey link below.  You will still be able to keep your school-based traditions regarding the length, for example if you typically hold K Camp for a week, or additional culture items like shirts, but the funds would support these specific dates and times.  Click this survey link to provide your thoughts and input. We will use this feedback during an upcoming principal meeting to engage in some collaborative systems planning.

ELA Coaching Content Day: Please Review

Coaches will join the ELA Team from 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM in the Oak training room in Building 2 at the District Office.

Please note: The coaching and ERD portions of the training will be provided in two separate recordings for anyone who is unable to attend. If you would like to view the live session, a Zoom link can be provided upon request.

Celebrate Black History Month

Starting February 1st, we celebrate Black History Month.  Teaching children about the historical accomplishments and struggles of African Americans benefits everyone by connecting our students with a rich history and allowing them to hear about individuals and events that forged a nation.  In the spirit of honoring African American pioneers and landmark events in black history, engage your students in activities and texts that develop compassion and a better understanding of cultural diversity.  You may find suggested instructional ideas using this link.
