Promotion to 4th Grade Documentation

As SRC comes to an end, please make sure you are sending Promotion to 4th Grade documentation for each student you are promoting through a good cause exemption.  All documentation must be submitted no later than August 9th. This would also include paperwork for any student that does not have a FSA-ELA score.  Remember, we want to have at least two data points that show a student can perform at least at a level 2, using any combination of IRLA 3.0+, NWEA (projected Level 2), Touchpoints (60%+), FDOE Good Cause Assessments (60%+), and/or historical performance data.

Attached is a guidance document for determining percentile based on NWEA MAP RIT Score. NWEA has not normed the summer MAP Growth Assessment, which is why we aren’t receiving a percentile ranking.

  • 197 RIT score would be the 50th percentile.
  • RIT score of 189-196 would be a projected Level 2 (below 50th percentile).

Please email or call Courtney Lough for any guidance on promotion to 4th grade.

Together We Learn Sessions For New Teachers

The new teacher team has compiled a recommended list of Together We Learn sessions for new teachers. New teachers already have these lists. We want to share these lists with administrators in case you’d like to recommend specific sessions for your new hires. You can view the recommended list for elementary teachers by clicking here. You can view the recommended list for secondary teachers by clicking here. Please encourage your new teachers to review these lists and sign up for the sessions that best support their work. New teachers can use the link at the bottom of each PDF to sign up for sessions using their personal email address. No Pasco login required.

School Programming Application Now Available

Each year the district provides an opportunity for schools to express interest in new school programming. This process begins with an intent to apply to ensure that prior to schools completing the entire application, Superintendent’s Staff has an opportunity to provide input. The goal of this process is to ensure that there is a plan in place for implementation including resources and support prior to implementing and advertising new options to our families and community.

Intent to apply for new school programming

Schools interested in bringing a new program/theme to their school should complete the intent to apply below.  These applications will be reviewed, and schools will be contacted for further discussion. Those schools who move on for Superintendent’s Staff consideration will be sent the full application to complete. Please remember that a planning year is required for all new programs/themes prior to implementation. Below are examples of the categories of programming our district currently offers.

1.      Magnet Programs (ex. PHS Cambridge, GHS IB)

2.      Magnet Schools (ex. BPMS, CENMS, PVES, PVMS, SRK8)

3.      Dedicated Magnet Schools (ex. SMES, WKTHS)

4.      New Academy, Program or Concept without magnet status (ex. CTE, Fine Arts)

Click here to complete the Intent to Apply. The intent is due by August 6th

Please contact Michelle Topham, Fran Howard, or Pam Davis with questions.

This will be the first cohort to go through the new program design. All teachers interested in joining PDCP will need to join in their first year of teaching, and program enrollment sessions will begin in the fall.
